Talk about going “down the rabbit hole”. On the back of looking for more information on “Movie Merchandise Productions” (relating to the Robin Hood Fiddle Sticks game) the Argus Melbourne newspaper on 5th March 1937 has a small advertisement for the formation of a new company to be called Ezy-Bilt Pty. Ltd. with its registered office at 318 Flinders Lane Melbourne. I’ll discuss the Ezy-Bilt Meccano toy elsewhere, but I am intrigued with the number of businesses associated with this address and what other ‘toy’ businesses might be found there.
Further searching at Trove shows 318 Flinders Lane Melbourne is mentioned as the address for numerous businesses in the book “Happy Children in Your Home” from the Ministering Childrens League ca 1945.
