Over at Antique Toy World I was getting through some of the older stock and came across a Winna Alphabet Game. A game or jigsaw concept of the English Alphabet with a picture representing each letter as a pictorial teaching aid for younger children.

The printed sheet is of 3 or 4mm cardboard with raw card back-face and the front face partially cut through or scored to allow clean separation of the cards or tiles.

The sheet measures 30cm or roughly 12 inches x 17mm or 6 7/8″ each tile being approximately 43mm square with the final tile showing “A Winna Product” and ” Made in Australia” with a Union Jack flag and a mis-coloured Australian flag.

They are both the same and in excellent factory fresh printed condition. Wrapped in a light cellophane, was this shrink-wrap of the time, or applied later ?

The style would indicate late 1950’s or early 1960’s.

I have listed Winna model cars in both metal and bakelite but I was not aware of printed products and now wonder if it is the same business or not.

Some quick research on Winna Products yields this advertisement of the winding up of the business in 1973. A search of todays ASIC Business Names shows no record of Winna Products.

Another reference to Winna Products or A Winna Production is found at The Gunning and District Historical Society website referencing some older childrens games and including a picture of this Winna Production table top skittles game Animal Antics

The Gunning and District Historical Society also references Winna Products address as 110-112 Redfern Street Sydney. This led me to further research on the Winna Products factory.

At HobbyDB they have a small selection of Winna toy cars, similar to mine.
